Neil & Chris`s, Jazz,Blues and Big Eyed Beans from VENUS

This is Chris & Neil`s web page, which deals with the music only a handful of people can appreciate.

Hi, I'm Neil and as you can see, I've been around. Chris and I live in Whitstable, Kent, England and we both love Blues and Jazz. Other than the music I've just mentioned, my other interests include drinking beer and smokin' cigarettes. My Desert Island Discs for now are as follows: 1. Ornette Coleman (Tomorrow is the Question)
2. John Lee Hooker (Everybody Rockin')
3. Eric Dolphy (Out to Lunch)
4. Bill Evans Trio (Portrait in Jazz)
5. Robert Johnson (Complete works)
6. Ornette Coleman (Change of the Century)
7. Miles Davis (Tutu)
8. Ornette Coleman (This is Our Music)
If your personal selection is even cooler than mine or Chris', we'd like to see it. Feel free to send it to us.

If you look above and below you`ll see our `Desert island discs`.
Hello, I`m Chris and I haven`t been around, but this is good because I`m not and old git yet. Neil's already said where I live and that I like Blues and Jazz but I also like music that has no category, like `Captain Beefheart` and `The Velvet Underground`. Here`s my Desert Island Discs at this present moment in time:
1.Muddy Waters (They call me Muddy Waters.)
2.The Velvet Undergound (and Nico)
3.Captain Beefheart (Spotlight Kid)
4.Soft Machine (Bundles)
5.Miles Davis (Kind of blue)
6.Chet Baker (Chet Baker Sings)
7.T-Bone Walker (T-Bone Walker)
8.Little Walter (Big Boss Harmonica)
These are in no particular order and will probably change frequently.

Here`s our `Album of the month`, and as you can see from the title it changes every month.
The Velvet Underground and Nico: Since the punk era this album has been hailed the most influencial album of all time. The album cover by Andy Warhol, friend of Lou Reed, and also producer of the album. There seems to be a perfect combination between Lou Reed with his rock and roll influences and also Ornette Coleman
was a big influence on him, then there is avante garde violin player John Cale who could also be called a multi instrumentalist, contributing bass and piano to the album. Mix them with the unique drumming of Maureen Tucker and the equally unique guitar playing of Sterling Morrison and then put in the haunting vocals on the odd track by Nico and you have `The Velvet Underground and Nico.`
